SNOW THEME IN PRESCHOOL
Winter is such a fun theme in many preschool classrooms. I love to read winter books and choose hands-on winter activities that are related to snowmen, polar animals (especially penguins!), and of course…snow!
It doesn’t snow where I live, which means I can’t go outside my front door to gather snow for a winter sensory bin. So I decided to use the next best thing…instant snow!
Instant snow is SO cool! I ordered this kind from Amazon. All you do is scoop some instant snow into a sensory bin, add water, and bam…you have snow that looks like the real deal!
INSTANT SNOW SENSORY BIN
To create a winter wonderland for our winter sensory bin, I added some instant snow, snowflake & snowman cookie cutters, mini-erasers, blue gems, and scoops. It was so pretty & inviting….my students couldn’t wait to dig in!
I love how this winter sensory bin inspired so much learning! My students were using amazing vocabulary and language skills, socializing, taking turns, and using their imaginations all while exploring the bin. This is why learning through play is so awesome!
EXTEND THE LEARNING
This Instant Snow sensory bin is perfect to let your preschoolers free play & explore. But if you want to add a little academic practice, choose any of these winter freebies to put into the bin & watch learning come to life!
