15 CENTERS: Check out the pictures above to see each activity. You can also check out THIS POST for more details. Each activity comes with detailed directions, supply list, and extension activities. There are also black/white versions of each activity.
Winter Vocabulary Words: Includes 15 winter-themed word cards. Each word comes in 4 different fonts: Uppercase, lowercase, uppercase traceable, and lowercase traceable. Also comes with a set of just the words (uppercase and lowercase) and just the pictures (giving students the chance to match them up). The possibilities with these cards are endless! Also includes 3 activity pages for students to write these words if you choose to do a “Write the Room” activity with them and 1 page of pictures for them to “Color the Room.”
Winter Play Dough Mats: Include 8 play dough mats with the cutest winter pictures: snowflake, snowman, snowball, earmuffs, mitten, winter hat, hot chocolate, & penguin. Working with play dough is great to build up the small muscles in your little one’s fingers and wrists (fine motor skills).
Snowflake Letter Hunt: Includes all uppercase and lowercase letters on snowflakes. Hide the snowflakes around the room or in a sensory bin and have students find them. Then they can mark off the letters on their check-off sheet.
Winter Beginning Sounds: Fly the bird with the picture to the correct letter tree to represent the picture’s beginning sound. Includes all 26 letters.
Clip Card Rhymes: Choose a card & name the word in the middle. Then find the rhyming pictures along the outside of the card & clip them with a clothespin (great for fine motor skills!) Includes 10 cards, and each card has 3 rhyming pictures to find.
High-Frequency Snowball Toss: This activity is great for little ones who are ready to learn high-frequency words (after they know their letters & sounds). You’ll help them hear the sounds in each word & how to spell those sounds. (Includes both regular & irregular high-frequency words). Includes 20 high-frequency words plus snowballs to spell those words.
Sticker Snowflakes: Use stickers (or do-a-dot markers) to create a snowflake by following the lines. Another great activity for fine motor practice!
Build a CVC Snowman: Choose a snowman hat, then build three words that belong in that word family. Includes 18 word families.
ABC & 123 Snowball Fight: Crumple up letters and/or numbers and throw them round the room for a “snowball fight.” Then open them up and say the letter names/sounds and numbers on the snowballs. This one is always a blast with my students!
Compare Snowflake Numbers: Choose two numbers and compare which one is bigger using the gators. Includes numbers 1-20 and gators to represent greater than, less than, and equal to.
Winter Patterns: Your little one will work on duplicating, extending, and creating patterns using the winter pictures. They will place the pattern card on the mat & create the pattern using pictures. There are 10 patterns to duplicate/extend and 10 patterns to fill in the missing pictures for a total of 20 pattern cards.
Snow Globe Counting: Choose a snow globe and a number strip. Place the number strip through the slit on the snow globe, then move it up and down so only one number is showing at a time. Then add that many snowflakes to the snow globe. Includes numbers 1-10, 11-20, and basic addition.
Snowman Shapes Spinner: Use a pencil and paperclip to create a spinner on the snowman. Spin the paperclip and name the shape it is pointing to, then mark that shape off of your check-off sheet. Reviews 9 basic 2D shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond, star, oval, pentagon, and trapezoid.
Penguin Ten Frame: Penguin ten frames for numbers 1-10. Each card includes the numeral, a traceable number word, and the ten frame. Also includes a set with the ten frame already filled in depending on how you want to use this activity.
Favorite Season Tally & Graph: Create a bar graph or tally chart representing students’ favorite season. They can ask family or friends to get the data to fill in the tally chart or graph.
BOOK PROJECT: This pack also comes with a book project based on the book How to Catch a Snowman by Adam Wallace and Andy Elkerton. (You will need to buy this book or borrow it from your local library. Book is NOT included with purchase.)
