THE KISSING HAND BOOK ACTIVITIES

These preschool & pre-k book-inspired activities are perfect to use after you read The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. (Book is not included in your purchase). They can be used at home or in your early childhood classroom. Each activity comes in both color and black/white.

The activities in this pack include:

LITERACY: CVC Words: Have your little one add the beginning sound to spell & read CVC words from different word families. Includes 15 word family mats, and each word family has 3 pictures (for a total of 45 picture cards). The word families included in this activity are: -an, -at, -ad, -ed, -eg, -et, -ib, -id, -in, -ob, -od, -og, -ub, -un, -ut.

MATH: Size Order: Have your little one put the pictures in order from largest to smallest. Includes 4 different sets of cards to put in order. You can also have them match color sets to black/white sets.

FINE MOTOR: Dot Sticker Hearts: This activity can be used in SO many different ways! Your little one will be working on their fine motor skills while peeling off stickers from the sticker sheet. Then you can have them work on color matching, subitizing, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, and more. (*Stickers are not included).

GROSS MOTOR: Short Vowel High-Fives: This activity will get your little one up & moving! They’ll identify the vowel sound in a CVC word and give a high-five to the matching vowel hand. This is such a fun way to practice phonemic awareness skills!

CRAFT: Yarn Heart: This Yarn Heart gives little ones the chance to cut, glue, and create a masterpiece! (*Supplies are not included.)

SNACK: Pretzel Hearts: These sweet & salty Pretzel Hearts are a delicious snack that your little one will love making (and eating!) (*Supplies are not included.)

READING RESPONSE: Journal Writing Page & Bookmark: Your little one will have the opportunity to draw/write about the book & keep their special bookmark for years!
