CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM BOOK ACTIVITIES
These preschool & pre-k book-inspired activities are perfect to use after you read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault. (Book is not included in your purchase). They can be used at home or in your early childhood classroom. Each activity comes in both color and black/white.
The activities in this pack include:
LITERACY: Chicka Chicka Name Activity: This activity helps your little one become more familiar with the letters and sounds in their name. They will find the letters in their name and dot them with dot markers. Then they will glue the letters of their name on the coconut tree.
MATH: Count the Coconuts Clip Cards: Your little one will be working on counting the coconuts and using a clothespin to clip the correct answer. Includes cards for numbers 0-10.
FINE MOTOR: Pokey Pins Name: Use the included editable name template to print out your child’s name in dots. Then have them use a push pin to poke their name into a piece of cardboard. This creates a textured version of their name and is great for working on fine motor skills!
GROSS MOTOR: Climb the Coconut Tree: Take your little one outside to the nearest playground and have them climb the “coconut tree” just like the letters. This is great for gross motor skills AND will lead to imaginary play!
CRAFT: Coconut Letter Tree: This Coconut Letter Tree is a great craft AND a great tool to practice letter recognition! (*Supplies are not included.)
SNACK: Chicka Chicka Banana Tree: Use this snack to retell the story and watch your little one engage with letters & sounds in a hands-on way! Learning can be delicious! (*Supplies are not included.)
READING RESPONSE: Journal Writing Page & Bookmark: Your little one will have the opportunity to draw/write about the book & keep their special bookmark for years!
