STRICTLY NO ELEPHANTS BOOK ACTIVITIES
These preschool & pre-k book-inspired activities are perfect to use after you read Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev. (Book is not included in your purchase). They can be used at home or in your early childhood classroom. Each activity comes in both color and black/white.
The activities in this pack include:
LITERACY: Rhyme Time: This activity asks your little one to listen to words and decide if they rhyme with “tree” or not. This is great to develop phonological awareness skills! Includes 24 picture cards to sort.
MATH: One Less, One More: Your little one will be working on number sense with this printable. They’ll choose a number and put it in the middle of the mat. Then they’ll have to determine which number is one less and one more. Includes number cards 0-20.
FINE MOTOR: Animal Illustrations vs. Animal Photographs: Your little one will practice cutting & gluing with this activity! They’ll cut out the animal cards and then determine which ones are illustrations and which ones are photographs. They can match the animals and then glue them to the correct mats. Includes 12 animal illustration cards and 12 animal photograph cards.
GROSS MOTOR: Animal Movement Cube: Get ready for some fun! Encourage your little one to roll the cube and do the activity with their exotic pet, just like the characters in the book!
CRAFT: All Are Welcome Sign: This sign goes along perfectly with the message of the book! You can use the included printable or blank white paper. Have your little one use markers, crayons, or colored pencils to make their sign! (*Supplies are not included.)
SNACK: Friendship Bites: This snack is delicious AND has a great message! You can use the included printables to follow the recipe for being a great friend. (*Supplies are not included.)
READING RESPONSE: Journal Writing Page & Bookmark: Your little one will have the opportunity to draw/write about the book & keep their special bookmark for years!
