POUT-POUT FISH BOOK ACTIVITIES

These preschool & pre-k book-inspired activities are perfect to use after you read Pout-Pout Fish in the Big-Big Dark (or any Pout-Pout Fish book) by Deborah Diesen. (Book is not included in your purchase). They can be used at home or in your early childhood classroom. Each activity comes in both color and black/white.

The activities in this pack include:

LITERACY: Ocean Compound Words: Your little one will put together ocean animals to create compound words! This is great for developing phonological awareness skills. Includes 8 compound words and an activity page to mark them off as you find them.

MATH: Fishbowl Counting: Your little one will be working on counting, subitizing, and more with this fun activity! They will choose a card, place it on the mat, and count out that many goldfish (either real goldfish crackers or the included goldfish cards). Includes cards for numbers 1-10, and each number is shown as the following:  numeral, fingers, tally marks, dice, goldfish, and ten frame.

FINE MOTOR: Fishing for Candy: Your little one will be developing the strength in their hands by fishing for candy!

GROSS MOTOR: Flashlight Exercising: Get ready for some fun! Encourage your little one to move their bodies by shining a flashlight at a number and doing that many of a certain exercise, such as lunges, squats, or jumping jacks.

CRAFT: Fish in the Ocean: This ocean scene is fun to make and hang up around your house! Includes 2 versions of the printable background. (*Supplies are not included.)

SNACK: Fishbowl Crackers: This snack is easy to make and yummy to eat! (*Supplies are not included.)

READING RESPONSE: Journal Writing Page & Bookmark: Your little one will have the opportunity to draw/write about the book & keep their special bookmark for years!
