ELLIE BOOK ACTIVITIES
These preschool & pre-k book-inspired activities are perfect to use after you read Ellie by Mike Wu. (Book is not included in your purchase). They can be used at home or in your early childhood classroom. Each activity comes in both color and black/white.
The activities in this pack include:
LITERACY: Zoo Animal Syllables: This super fun activity gives your little one the chance to count out syllables, which is an important phonological awareness skill. They can either use the Animal Syllable Clip Cards (which also gives them a chance to trace numbers) OR they can sort the animals into groups based on syllables by putting them under the correct label. Includes 12 animals.
MATH: Where Do the Animals Live? Tally & Graph: Your little one will sort the animals into Air, Water, & Land, and then they can use the data to create a tally chart and/or a bar graph. Includes 25 animal cards.
FINE MOTOR: Rescue the Animals: Your little one will be developing the strength in their hands by rescuing the animals from a bin covered with tape or string. This will also lead into imaginary play!
GROSS MOTOR: Animal Parade: Get ready for some fun! Your little one will move like an animal along a variety of lines and practice different locomotor skills.
CRAFT: Handprint Elephants: This sweet craft is perfect to make after reading this book! (*Supplies are not included.)
SNACK: Elephant Bagel: This is the perfect breakfast to eat on the morning you read Ellie! (*Supplies are not included.)
READING RESPONSE: Journal Writing Page & Bookmark: Your little one will have the opportunity to draw/write about the book & keep their special bookmark for years!
