Hi there! I’m Erin, or Ms. Erin as my preschoolers & kindergarteners call me.
I’m a wife, mom of two, and former classroom teacher (M.Ed) who’s just a tiny bit obsessed with the best way to teach little ones to read (*I even created an online course to share what I’ve learned with you!)
I worked for many years as a first & second grade teacher, but it’s only been in the last few years after I switched to preschool & kindergarten that I TRULY learned how kids learn to read based on the Science of Reading, and all I can think is….why didn’t I know about this sooner?!
As preschool & kindergarten parents, teachers, & homeschooling families, we have a HUGE role to play in setting kids up for success in learning to read.
After all, 90% of brain development happens in the first five years of a child’s life.
If we don’t lay the correct foundation now, our kids are going to struggle to pass their reading tests in 3rd and 4th grade…and since research shows 66% of 4th graders read below a proficient level, something has to change.
And that’s what Littles Love Learning is all about.
I created this website to be a resource for anyone who works with preschool, pre-k, & kindergarten littles. I want to help you understand HOW kids learn to read and WHAT you can do to prepare them now for reading success, even before they head off to kindergarten.
And the best part? It’s all done through fun, hands-on, PLAYful learning!
